Your Equanimity Team, we've walked in your shoes

Equanimity was founded by Mark Casey and Anne-marie Payne. We’ve worked, lived and breathed partnerships for over 25 years. As with every member of our team, we’ve negotiated ‘fall-outs’ and relationship challenges to find the right outcomes for all concerned. We all now live calmer, lighter, brighter lives.

Anne-marie. Discovery.Relational intelligence

Hello, I’m Anne-marie. My passion is to use my skills, training and experience to help people understand what truly makes them tick, in order to find new and better ways to navigate relationships (particularly tricky ones!).

I’ve worked in marketing communications for over 30 years. I’ve owned and amicably exited a business. During this time, I’ve applied relational intelligence techniques to enable clients and colleagues to focus on the heart of a matter, truly listen to each other (and their audiences), creating an environment of greater understanding and clearer communication. All essential elements of navigating relationships in business.

As a business owner in a fast-paced, highly pressured industry for 20 years, I developed a bespoke mentor technique for my team that discovered their strengths and true passions, which enabled me to create roles and opportunities for them to apply both.

This experience led to the development of a fresh, fast-paced, intuitive Q+A session that forms the first step of our Equanimity process. I believe that having time and opportunity to be completely honest with yourself, without the constraint of conditioned thought (think of that pesky ‘should’ word) leads to a happier life. I don’t know about you, but when I headed up my business, I found that ‘me time’ was definitely in short supply and I was bottom of my own priority list! My role in the process is to give you back some ‘me time’ to focus on what is important to you and discover the best way to communicate this to others in a way that they can better relate to.

Then, together we can work out the best way forward for all.

Mark. Lead Mediator

Hello, I am Mark Casey. With over 30 years’ experience in technology and corporate media relations for Blue Chip companies there are very few communication challenges that I have not been faced with. Following the traditional path of working for large PR agencies based in London, I then co-founded my own Covent Garden based agency, Prodigy Communications in 1999 and ran that successfully until my business partnership broke down in 2006. Since then, I have acted as a media relations advisor and mediator to multinational telecommunications companies and global trade bodies.

A remarkably average student at school, I fortunately inherited my father’s athletic ability and played representative rugby at school, university, and senior level. Though I was never the best player on the pitch I was regularly appointed captain because of my ability to bring a team together, deal with confrontation and bring the best out of my teammates. Rugby can be a brutal game that requires a high level of physical and mental toughness but in my opinion creates bonds and a “esprit de corps” rarely found in any other sport. What I have learnt from this sport I have always used in every aspect of my life.

Joel. The Performance Coach

Hello. I’m Joel and I am a performance coach

I help people overcome anxiety, shyness, nerves and social awkwardness, enabling them to discover the freedom to do whatever it is they want to. In today’s pressurised world, many people find that their lack of confidence holds them back, whether this is in the workplace, in their relationships or in their social life. By restoring confidence, people can change the way they think and feel to improve the quality of their personal and professional lives.

For the last 25 years I’ve been an actor, director and voice-over artist. I am probably best known for my role as Jake Moon in EastEnders and for playing Dawn’s fiancée, Lee, in BBC’s The Office. Over the years I have worked with almost every major advertising agency, alongside television companies, commercial directors and many Blue Chip and FTSE 500 companies. All these experiences have taught me more than a thing of two about performance, pressure, and how people behave when they have to step out of their comfort zone.

Working with individuals and teams, I guide people to quickly identify common workplace behaviours and characteristics. Once those behaviours have been identified I can equip people with the essential skills they need to adapt to different situations, discover more about themselves, how to better relate to others and really enjoy their life and work balance.’
